The Start of all Beginnings
Before the Creation there was nothing. Emptiness filled the entire universe, and winds loomed over the dark waters, gathering them and scattering them at their will. Then out of the Mist and the waters came the Gods. The first god was Mortality, father of knowledge, and through him came the Wise Ones: Sophia, Gnaritas, and Sensus. They were the earliest gods, and they together created everything within the universe: the planets, the stars, the moons. There were no living beings at that time; everything was in peace and harmony. In the midst of these grew Natura, the tree of life, the mother of all living beings. On the first day she bore all the vegetation of Mortalitatis; the grass that covers the earth, the trees that reach the sky, the flowers that decorate life. The second day she bore all creatures of the water; the fish resting in the tides, the hydra lurking in the waters, the whales wading in the open seas. The third day she bore all amphibians and reptiles of the land; the cosmopolitan lizard, the cunning snake, and the ferocious basilisks. The fourth day she bore the creatures of the sky; the feathered birds, the furry bats, and the fierce dragons. The fifth day she bore the creatures of the land; the arrogant wolves, the humble ox, and the sly fox. On the sixth day she rested, and all was good.
The seventh day the goddess Marita rose from the foam of the seas. She was the daughter of Mortality, the first mortal, the woman that created all other gods. She worked day and night, restlessly, as she formed all gods through the dirt and earth beneath her; and when she created the last god, Letum, the god of death, she breathed her last breath and her spirit was taken by him to eternal rest.
Thus the New Age, an age ruled by the modern gods started. Together, Pollentia, the goddess of power, bore the mortals by Letum, the god of death. They were granted power over everything under the gods on Mortalitatis; the plants, the animals, the elements. Drunk on the authority they possessed, mortals fought each other, and the fighting lasted for 256 years. This became known as the Age of Unrest. In the end, the six most powerful mortals came together, and started the Age of Peace. They became rulers of the land, legends that would be passed down for centuries, and they were known as the Six Creators. After their death, their descendants inherited the power they achieved, and they became what was to be known as the Nobles.
Their reign started in the echos of the Age of Unrest. To prevent such uproar and chaos, the use of magic was strictly prohibited; only those belonging to the Nobles could possess such power. It was a grand idea; at first. Years and years passed, generations came and gone, and the structure of the society built by the Six Creators have changed. Things were no longer the way they were intended to be; corruption reeked through ranks.
It is already long forgotten when somebody started to notice the presence of them----the anthrotrophs. They were a mix between animals and human; the furry head and paws of animals were maintained, but they walked on their hind legs and wore clothing like humans did. Some could even speak like humans. But what made them most similar to humans was the fact that they also could possess magic. How they obtained this power, nobody knows. Some say that the gods have granted them the power as a punishment of the slaughter between humans, some said that they merely stole the intelligence from ancient records and self taught themselves the tricks. One way or another, there was an uproar within the mortals; they could not accept a species like this to possess magic as well. Though few associated with anthrotrophs and even intermarried with them, most persecuted them and enslaved them, putting burdens that they themselves could not bear on the shoulders of the anthrotrophs.
It was then when someone started to awake and see the wicked society for what it really was. Arthfael Leuthar St. Augustine, a descendant of one of the Six Creators, was disgusted and horrified of the hypocritical society that he was raised up in. At the age of 25, he ran away from the Court he had lived all his life, and created an organization he named "Eruditio", the Enlightenment. He was remembered as the Awakened among his followers, including serfs, anthrotrophs, and a few Nobles. The Nobles mostly refer to him as the Outlaw, the Runaway. He did not see what he hoped to achieve upon his death, but he did spark the fire for the people to continue his work.
This is the Age of Chaos. It is the age of ages, the best of all times. It is a time of peace, it is a time of war; it is a time of discord, it is a time of order. This is the time where anyone could be anything. The land of Mortalitatus is sundered, the people divided. How would you choose your stand when there is no division between the just and the evil?
