V1: Gathering Storm
Things have been relatively quiet for the inhabitants of Mortalitatis. But underneath the calm ripples of the surface, whirlpools have been forming. Clarissa Mandelbaum, the commander of the Eruditio, has her own doubts about her leadership, as the Eruditio seem to be at its weakest since its founding. There is no peace between the Nobles; after the judico, the Beverly and the Wheelock remain hostile towards one another, and the lack of a lar makes the Beverly family more vulnerable than ever. Meanwhie, the St Augustine have forged an alliance with the Wheelocks and are preparing to wage war against the Eruditio to retake Athadra. The Scintillae, restless as ever, have already started tapping their spy network into the Imperium. As the clouds gather, the UmbraCruor observes silently from afar. A storm has start to form, and there will be no peace for the land of the Mortalitatis.
Aftermath
At first, the resistance seemed strong, and there was fear that the rebels might be able to overthrow the Imperium. Abetted by the gods Bellum and Hel, Anna St Augustine organizes a grand sacrifice, during which she threw herself into the pyre in order to win the gods favor. With the help of certain gods, the St Augustines' militant power start to expand, and slowly overpower the resistance.
Clarissa gives birth to her child with Stein Marker, but dies in the process of labor. As a result, the Eruditio, having taken too many losses from their war with the St Augustines, disbanded and fled Athadra, leaving their former home to the mercy of the St Augustines. Crushing any form of resistance that comes their way, the St Augustines successfully recapture the city of Athadra and destroy the rebels, leaving them with no hope of rising again.
Once things start to quiet down a bit, Belphegor Chester stages a rescue mission, and whisk away Sonjaa Renkins from her prison. Together, they take the remaining members of the Scintillae and Eruditio fugitives to join forces with Shax Chester to take a stance against the Imperium. Their move starts an entire new war within the land of Mortalitatis, one with drastic consequences.
The land is struck with a plague by Bellum, the god of war and destruction, and many suffer as a result of his whim. The Beverly Patroness, Elsa, dies as a result, as well as Geoffrey St Augustine's wife Cosette. Devastated by her death, Geoffrey sought to speed up his conquest for power: the war did just that for him. With the newly found State of Nyx hovering as a threat, he was able to seize power and establish himself as the Imperium's supreme ruler.
